State HIE Cooperative Agreement Program

The State Health Information Exchange Cooperative Agreement Program for Planning and Implementation Projects were established to advance and secure health information exchanges (HIE) across the health care system.

The purpose of this funding is to facilitate and expand secure, electronic use of health information among organizations using nationally supported standards. The funding is set aside for both planning and implementation of a Statewide HIE.

In addition to the initial funding provided through this Cooperative Agreement, there will be future technical assistance and guidance regarding implementation and evaluation however the allocation of funds will be dependent on where states are in planning/implementation.


Although grant applications are due on October 16th, FEI is available to consult with organizations throughout the planning and implementation process.
